The first LNG bunkering vessel in the Gulf of Finland, Optimus, uses Heatmaster’s dual fuel boiler running on Boil of Gas (BOG) and backup of Marine Gas Oil. Optimus is a 100m long vessel, built at Damen Shipyards Yichang. It completed its gas trials in Damen Verolme Rotterdam shipyard before being delivered to its owner, Infortar. The vessel is chartered to the energy company Elenger and will be serving LNG-powered vessels and smaller shoreside customers.

The maritime world seems to recover from the Covid-19 strike. A proof are the many exhibitions and events arranged for this year. Heatmaster as one of the global leaders of marine heating system will be present in all of them either as visitors or with its own booth.
After successfully attending APM Singapore on 16-18/03/2022 and exploring the opportunities in the area, we continue our journey.

The maritime sector is important for the facilitation and growth of global trade. Currently, about 90% of the goods are transported by ships and as a result, the number of ships has risen, increasing the emissions related to shipping. Therefore, the sector is facing a continuous pressure to reduce the its emissions. Legislation so far mainly focuses on new and alternative fuels, electric propulsion or exhaust cleaning devices. These methods are significant for sailing vessels to reduce their environmental footprint. How about ports?

Between the 1st -3rd of December 2021 the International WorkBoat Show took place in New Orleans, USA.
The International WorkBoat Show is a trade-only conference and expo for commercial vessel owners, operators and builders as well as the vendors and suppliers that serve them. The show attracts 15,000 members of the commercial marine industry, who come together from around the world to network, learn, spot new industry trends, and uncover innovative products and solutions.

At Heatmaster we are proud that except for a team of good engineers we also have a team of people who are conscientious. Our Coert Eijgendaal participated on the Amsterdam half marathon to support the Dutch Cancer Foundation.

Maritime industry to meet again at 40th edition of Europort
