Maritime Industry 2022
The Dutch history is inextricably linked to the maritime sector. The port of Rotterdam is the largest port of Europe and its main activities include petrochemical industries and general cargo handling and transhipment. From the terminals of Rotterdam, a fleet of inland ships transport the cargo to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Belgium via the rivers Maas and the Rhine.
The network reaches even the Black Sea via the river Danube. The Volkeraksluizen between Rotterdam and Antwerp are the biggest sluices for inland navigation in the world in terms of tonnage passing through them. The inland shipping fleet of the Netherlands is the largest in Europe. It is responsible for around 50% of incoming and outgoing cargo between the port of Rotterdam and destinations in Europe, playing an important role for the Dutch economy and transportation.
After two years of absence, the Maritime Industry is returning in Gorinchem, between the 17th-19th of May 2022. For the tanker barges navigating the inland waters, cargo heating is of vital importance. Heatmaster, as the major supplier of heating systems for the inland sector, will have a strong presence with its own booth. Come and visit Heatmaster booth K111, speak with our team of experts and discuss about the new innovations and solutions in the sector and of course to enjoy a drink together.
