Heatmaster BV Announces Bronze Sponsorship of Green Shipping Summit 2025
Hendrik Ido Ambacht, Netherlands — January 20, 2025
Heatmaster BV, a leader in energy-efficient heating solutions, is excited to announce its Bronze Sponsorship of the Green Shipping Summit 2025. The prestigious event, set to take place in Rotterdam on January 28 and 29, 2025, will gather maritime professionals, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore sustainable technologies and strategies for reducing the environmental impact of global shipping operations.
As part of its sponsorship, Heatmaster BV will highlight its advanced technologies in waste heat recovery and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems—innovative solutions that are helping the shipping industry reduce fuel consumption, cut emissions, and increase overall operational efficiency. These technologies are vital in driving the decarbonization of the maritime sector, aligning with the global push for greener shipping practices.
“We are proud to be a Bronze Sponsor at the Green Shipping Summit 2025,” said Pieter Borg, CCO of Heatmaster BV. “The shipping industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation, and Heatmaster is committed to supporting this shift with cutting-edge solutions like waste heat recovery and ORC systems. These technologies not only improve fuel efficiency but also contribute to significant reductions in CO2 emissions, helping shipping companies meet regulatory targets and sustainability goals.”
Waste Heat Recovery and Organic Rankine Cycle: Paving the Way for Sustainable Shipping
Heatmaster BV’s waste heat recovery systems with Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) are designed to capture excess heat from a vessel’s engines and other operations, which is typically lost to the environment. By recovering this waste heat, Heatmaster’s solutions can generate additional power or provide energy for onboard heating needs. This results in improved overall energy efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, and lower emissions—essential steps in making the shipping industry more sustainable.
ORC systems use low-temperature waste heat to generate electricity, which can be used to power auxiliary systems onboard ships. This technology is particularly effective in maritime operations, where ORC units can significantly enhance energy efficiency by converting otherwise wasted heat into useful electrical energy. By reducing fuel consumption, ORC systems contribute to a cleaner and more cost-effective energy profile for shipping companies.
Green Shipping Summit 2025: A Global Platform for Sustainable Innovation
The Green Shipping Summit is recognized as one of the influential events in the maritime industry. In 2025, the summit will focus on innovations in decarbonization, renewable energy solutions, and cutting-edge technologies aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of shipping. It will also explore the latest regulatory developments and industry best practices that are driving change within the sector.
Heatmaster BV’s participation as a Bronze Sponsor allows the company to engage with key stakeholders, share its expertise in waste heat recovery and ORC technology, and showcase how these systems can help shipping companies meet the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) ambitious decarbonization goals for 2050.
Heatmaster BV: Leading the Charge in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
With decades of experience in the development of energy-efficient heating and power generation systems, Heatmaster BV is at the forefront of integrating sustainable technologies into the maritime industry. Its waste heat recovery and ORC solutions are part of a broader portfolio aimed at helping shipping companies reduce operating costs while simultaneously reducing their carbon footprint.
The company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability aligns with its mission to provide cutting-edge technologies that support the shipping industry's transition to greener operations. By reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and optimizing energy use, Heatmaster’s solutions are playing a vital role in making maritime transport more sustainable and economically viable.
Recently, Heatmaster received funding from the Maritime Masterplan 2024 of the Dutch Government as member of the ME2CC consortium. This project involves waste heat recovery with ORC for power generation on board the Samskip Kvitbjorn. The consortium will retrofit a Value Maritime Carbon Capture system, and Heatmaster waste heat recovery with ORC in this project, to capture CO2 emissions with reduced fuel consumption. The ME2CC consortium, headed by Value Maritime, consists of Samskip Holding, B2B Marine, Fusie Engineers, Devoteq, Brusche Process Technology, Yard Energy Group and Heatmaster.
A Step Toward a Greener Maritime Future
The Green Shipping Summit 2025 is an essential event for industry professionals who are shaping the future of sustainable shipping. Heatmaster BV’s Bronze Sponsorship highlights its dedication to supporting this transformation and advancing the technologies that are essential for reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency in the maritime sector.
