Junior (engineering) sales manager


Heatmaster is well-known for its heating systems in the Maritime Industry. The Maritime Industry is responsible for 90% of all international transport. We are supplying heating systems to the world’s leading shipyards. The heating systems are for maintaining cargo temperature for tankers, and engine room and cabin heating on board ferries, dredgers, container vessels, tugs, LNG tankers and other ship types. We are the market leader for these heating systems, using hot water and thermal oil as heating media. We operate from our offices in The Netherlands and China and are represented by agents across the world.

Who you are and What you are going to do:

In this position you are a member of the Global Sales team. You will be part of a mixed team of experienced sales managers and driven talents, all with a passion for delivering top notch products in the maritime sector. As a Junior Sales Manager you are responsible for assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate solutions – system design, products, engineering support. You will frequently visit prospects or existing customers, shipbuilders and ship designers, to discuss their situation, needs and planning with system design and technical details and finally agreeing on the delivery conditions. In addition to researching developments and commercial opportunities, you also listen carefully to your customers to prevent and solve problems as well as good ideas that they come up with. It’s your goal to do everything to ensure customers are experiencing a positive customer-company relationship.

Who are we looking for?

The Junior (Engineering) Sales Manager is a person naturally sensitive to information such as market conditions and trends, only with this you can find sales or business opportunities. He/she knows that selling is not just about the stories you tell, but about how you listen to your customer. And finally, that success is not a one man show but a team effort.

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; for example: mechanical designing, electrotechnics
  • Affinity with maritime sector (heating) is preferred
  • Willing to invest in a worldwide performance
  • Sales experience is preferred
  • Understanding of international sales and good team player
  • The following (mindset) qualities apply to you: Result driven, creative mind, communicative, problem solver, proactive and strong focus on relationship management
  • Strong language skills, fluent in both spoken and written Dutch and English, preferably a third language German or Spanish.

Work location:

Your regular workplace is Hendrik Ido Ambacht. In this position you will frequently travel internationally to customers and exhibitions.
